Congratulations to the following Karigon students who received the 2013 Physical Education Student Leadership Award: Katie Darby, Kaitlyn Watrobski, Emily VanPelt, Shawn Putnam, Liam McDonough, Eric Scott, Jason Freitas. 
Recently, Karigon 4th graders met up with Governor Andrew Cuomo during a tour of the state Capitol to complement their unit on government.
Karigon Connection with Canada - Mrs. Adams 5th grade class connects to Canada through a series of Map Quests. [ ]
Kate Bartoletti, a student in Mrs. Palmieri’s 5th grade class, was presented with an award for third place for her winning poster in the Town of Clifton Park’s Arbor Day Poster Contest at the Town board meeting on May 6th.
Karigon students show their support for the Turn It Off-Respect the Earth Campaign during the month of March with some bright ideas. 
Karigon students had an exciting day with local children’s author and illustrator Matthew McElligott on March 26th. 
Mrs. Paupini's third grade class created a cultural banner with pictures they drew of traditions from their ancestors.
Student Council filled backpacks with school supplies collected for students in school PS 256, Rockaway NY.

Karigon Kids perform Annie KIDS
On March 7th and 8th, the Karigon PTA Musical Company performed Annie KIDS with two full casts made up of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Congratulations to all of the performers and to all of the Karigon staff and PTA parents who made these shows possible. A very special thank you to Tracey Tidgewell who generated the idea and directed the musical. Bravo![ ]
We are so proud of the Odyssey of the Mind teams that
represented Karigon at the Regional tournament this past
weekend! You could see how excited the Pet Project
students were when they rushed to Mr. Wing with the
trophy! A special thank you to the head coach, Yvette
Fitzgerald and Cay Hanley. Now these students will to
start to prepare for the State tournament which is
Saturday, March 23rd in Binghamton, NY.

KARIGON STUDENTS WERE ASKED, WHY DOES OUR CAFETERIA RULE? 
Eliana Moyer a 5th grade student in Mrs. Palmieri's class, was chosen as the 5th grade winner of the Siena Essay Contest. She wrote her essay about Deanna Rivers. Eliana was honored at a Siena Women's Basketball game this past Sunday; which was televised. Additionally, Elaina's essay was published in the program as well as displayed at the game. Congratulations!
On January 25th, Karigon’s 5th grade students took part in the Battle of the Books Reading Event. The winning team ‘Bob the Book Builders’ will compete at the district competition on March 19th at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library. 
Mr. Feher’s 5th Grade class is learning all about proportional drawing in art. Click here to see footage of their “Head to Head” competition.
Siena’s Adopt-A-School program with Karigon
Karigon recently participated in Siena’s Adopt-A-School program. Players from both of Siena’s basketball teams visited the school with their coaches and interacted with students in two sessions. [ ]
Mrs. Palmieri’s 5th graders are involved students and clear communicators who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary to contribute positively to their community. The class created diverse holiday cards to be distributed at a local nursing home.
