Beginning September 2009, Shenendehowa has prepared  district-wide supply list guidelines for elementary schools. Click here to view. This is an effort to regulate the amount of supplies that parents have to purchase at the beginning of the year.

Kindergarten Supply List

  • 1 box of 8 Crayola crayons
  • 1 box of 10 Crayola thin markers
  • 1 box of 12 Crayola colored pencils
  • 2 flexible vinyl folders
  • 1 plastic pencil box 4x8
  • 3 jumbo Elmer brand glue sticks
  • 1 package of Dixon Ticonderoga #2 pencils (sharpened)
  • 2 large pink or gum erasers
  • 1 box of two-gallon size Ziploc bags
  • 1 large size box of tissues

Grade 1 Supply List

  • 1 box (of 8) Crayola crayons
  • 1 box (of 24) Crayola crayons
  • 1 box (of 10) Crayola "skinny" markers
  • 2 large Pink-Block Erasers
  • 1 box (24) Ticonderoga-brand Pencils/sharpened
  • 1 (6 X 9) Spacemaker Pencil Box
  • 2 Jumbo Glue Sticks
  • 2 Pocket Folders (sturdy variety-pockets at bottom)
  • 1 Box of Tissues (large size to share with class)
  • 1 (old) Shirt for Art

Grade 2 Supply List

  • 3 flexible vinyl pocket folders

  • 1 pencil case (zippered pouch or plastic box)

  • 1 box of 24 Crayola crayons

  • 1 box of skinny Crayola markers

  • 1 box of 12 Crayola colored pencils 

  • 3 jumbo glue sticks

  • 3 marbled composition notebooks

  • 24 sharpened Ticonderoga pencils

  • 2 boxes of tissues

  • Backpack/bookbag – no wheels

  • Art Smock (T shirt)

Grade 3 Supply List

  • 1 Backpack or large book bag
  • 1 Zippered pencil pouch 8x5
  • 1 Box of Dixon Ticonderoga #2 pencils - sharpened
  • 1 Black Sharpie marker
  • 1 Block eraser - pink or gum
  • 1 Package of wide-ruled loose leaf paper
  • 1 Crayola Crayons - 24 pack
  • 1 Highlighter
  • 3 Marble composition notebooks - 100 page
  • 6 Laminated/vinyl folders with pockets on bottom. Red,orange,yellow,green,blue,purple
  • 2 Large boxes of tissues
  • 3 Packages of Post-It Notes (3x3)
  • 1 Jumbo glue stick
  • Art smock or a large t-shirt

*A swimsuit (one-piece for girls, trunks for boys) and towel will be needed for swim instruction in PE.

Grade 4 Supply List

  • 7 Pocket Folders (See the colors listed in the box.  No Trapper Keepers or Hard Cover Binders) These will be used for Language Arts, Math, Writing, Science/ Social Studies, Music, and for a Take Home folder. Colored folders are part of the organizational system and should be labeled accordingly. If possible, please purchase plastic folders. They are more durable. Red: Take Home Folder. Blue: Music. Yellow: Social Studies/ Science. Green: Math. Purple: Language Arts (Mrs. Dinan). Orange: Writing. Other: The last one can be of your choosing and will be labeled at school.

(Items marked with a J will need replacing during the school year.)                         

*Please label each item, including pencils, with your child’s name using a permanent marker.   (Do not label sharpie, highlighter, or loose leaf paper.)                                                 .

Please choose supplies that are NOT disguised as toys (and no pencil sharpeners).  They can be a major distraction, especially during the readjustment from summer vacation.

While choosing a school bag, keep in mind the limited amount of closet space available in each classroom. 

Please do not purchase an assignment notebook.  We have ordered an 8 ˝” x 11” assignment notebook for each student.  We hope that by having this information early, you can take advantage of the August sales to get the material your child will be using.  These will be needed for the first day of school.  We look forward to working with you in the fall.

  • 1 Portfolio - accordion expandable

  • 1 Package lined index cards - 3x5
