6th Grade General Music

Each 6th grade student who does not take Chorus, Orchestra or Band will have general music 40 minutes every other day for one semester.

Materials needed daily include:

Binder--3 ring with about 10 sheets of paper

Agenda

Recorder (available at local music stores as well as the school bookstore for a minimal cost $5.00--$7.00)

Pencil with eraser

Headphones in a zip lock bag hooked into binder to be used with the keyboards (available at the school bookstore for $2)

CURRICULUM follows guidelines of the National Music Educators National Conference including:

Singing

Playing recorder

Playing keyboards

Study of Composers: biographies, listening examples, playing or singing examples

Composing Music
