Wow, what an exciting month September has been. PTA has been very active in getting things started for the 2008-2009 school year. We have lots of volunteers to thank for the wonderful job they’ve done in putting in motion those items that make Karigon a great community and school.
Thank you to Nathalie for our new “Welcome” on the windows of Karigon. Look for seasonal changes throughout the year. Thank you to Lori for getting out our 1st journal of the year. Looks great Lori!! Thank you to Dawn and Christy for putting together another great membership campaign. We look forward to watching PTA membership and our investment in children grow this year. Thank you to the McGills for getting the fundraiser packets out and serving those delicious cookies at Open House to entice us to buy some. Thank you to Sue and her bakers for putting together a great coffee hour for the 1st PTA meetings. Thank you to Lori for her willingness to learn how to maintain our website and to Cyndy and Brenda thanks for helping her along. Thank you to all those ladies that helped put together folders and to all those volunteers that assisted with Kindergarten Orientation and 1st grade lunches. A special thanks to Dawn for organizing the Kindergarten Orientation volunteers and to Sandy for organizing the 1st grade lunch volunteers.
We will be enjoying a presentation by Dr. Robinson on Shenendehowa’s goals for the 2008-2009 school year at our October 1st meeting and can’t wait to hear what the students learned from our 1st cultural arts presentation, “Two High Energy” on October 7th. Mark your calendars for McDonald’s Night, October 16. Please join us and enjoy the Monster Mash on October 24th and don’t forget to sign up your child for bowling, October 15th or 22nd and watch for the book fair, October 20-24.
We post a draft copy of the minutes from our meetings on the website for members to review and comment on before the next meeting. If you have any comments, please contact our Recording Secretary, Tammy Learn.
