Shenendehowa Central School District takes part in energy conservation in each of our buildings.  During the winter months, the building heat will be maintained at a normal level during weekdays (55 degrees on weeknights and weekends).  The District uses New York State and State Education guidelines to determine heating and cooling levels.

Written requests for heating and cooling shall be made at least one week in advance of the event.  The form Request for EMS Schedule Change, which is available at the main office in each building, the Facilities and Operations office and the Community Services office, must be signed by the building principal or by the Community Services Coordinator and returned to the facilities and operations office.  Please make sure the request is signed by the building principal or by the Community Services Office staff and returned to the Facilities Office.

There may be a charge assessed for the incremental energy cost increase in response to the activities listing on the Request for EMS Schedule Change form.  Because of system designs or equipment configurations, limitations may exist in meeting heating or cooling requests.  Please direct any questions to the Facilities office at 881-0600.
