The public Study Session of the Board of Education was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

 

MOTION BY Mr. Casey, seconded by Mrs. Wiggins, to move into Executive Session at 6:30 p.m. to discuss personnel and contract negotiation related matters.

 

Unanimously approved, motion carried.

 

No action was taken.

 

MOTION BY Mrs. Blaauboer, seconded by Mr. Casey to return to public session at 7 p.m.

 

Unanimously approved, motion carried.

 

In the absence of Mrs. Grey, Mrs. Bowles lead the meeting this evening and called to reconvene the public session at 7:08 p.m.

 

Mrs. Bowles lead those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Mrs. Bowles pointed out the exits from the meeting room.

MOTION BY Mrs. Blaauboer, seconded by Mr. Mincher, to adopt the agenda as presented.

Math-Science Technology Academy Update

 

AIS Plan Update

 

Critical Inquiry Counsel – (Formerly Socratic Forum) Update

 

 

Dr. Robinson provided an overview of the three presentations and introduced Dr. Snyder who in turn introduced the respective presenters.  Presentations by the respective academic administrators, faculty, and students on the MST Academy at the High School were followed by a presentation by Dr. Snyder of the progress of the implementation of the revised AIS plan.  The Study Session concluded with a presentation by the Middle School ELA Academic Administrator, Staff Developer and the teacher of the Critical Inquiry Course.  All presentations were well received as indicated by the comments from several members of the Board and the Superintendent.

MOTION BY Mrs. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. DiLallo, to adjourn the meeting at 8:27 p.m.
