On occasion, it is necessary to advocate on
behalf of your child in order to obtain services to which your child is
entitled. There are many different types of advocacy. Most often
you will be your child’s advocate but in a situation where results are
not forthcoming or you are not sure of your child’s rights, you may need
to consult with an advocacy group that can guide you and give advice.
There are many groups from which to choose. As with any organization,
philosophies vary and it is important to choose a group that best meets
your needs.
