Centralized student registration process

Shenendehowa has a centralized registration process for:

  • New and re-entry students
  • Kindergarten students
  • Universal Pre-K (UPK) students who were selected in the lottery
  • Non-public school students

The district’s registrar is Ann Korzun (korzann@shenschools.org), 518-881-0662. The registrar’s office is located in the District Office at 5 Chelsea Place, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Office hours for the registrar are:

  • 7:45 am-4:15 pm
  • During Vacation Breaks – 8:30 am-3:30 pm
  • During the Summer – 8:00 am-3:30 pm

Online Registration Instructions

Submit the online application and upload or email all required documents. Your registration will be confirmed by email if complete. In-person meetings are not required, unless you do not have computer access, or unless you have special circumstances such as custody documents.

      Kindergarten Registration for the Next School Year

      Kindergarten registration begins in December for the next school year after registration instructions are mailed.

      Submit the online application and upload or email all required documents. Your registration will be confirmed by email if complete. In-person meetings are not required, unless you do not have computer access, or unless you have special circumstances such as custody documents.

      While we accept registrations year-round, we recommend that you complete Kindergarten registration by February for the upcoming school year.

      Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Registration for Students who were selected in the lottery

      The Shenendehowa Universal Pre-Kindergarten Lottery Application (2024-25) closed on May 8, 2024.  To those who entered the lottery, selection letters and waitlist letters will be mailed via USPS in late May or early June.

      The UPK lottery for the 25-26 school year will be held in the Spring of 2025 (May). Please read below and watch the Shen website and social media for announcements, information and links to a Google Form to enter the lottery.

      Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Information

      UPK is for district resident children who will be 4 on or before December 1 of the school year in which they would enter UPK.  (For the 24-25 school year this means a birth date between 12/2/2019 and 12/1/2020.)  Shenendehowa partners with approved centers in our district to provide a UPK program for eligible 4-year-old children at no cost to families through a state and federally funded grant.  Seats at each location are filled through a lottery, which will open on March 25, 2024 and close May 8, 2024 at 12am.  To be in the selection pool, a fully completed Lottery Entry must be received by the due date, May 8, 2024.       If you entered the UPK lottery and received a letter that your child was randomly selected for a seat in the UPK program, you will use our Online Registration Application to accept the seat and formally register your student for UPK with the required documents. The selection letter you receive will contain more detailed instructions and a deadline by which you must either accept or decline the seat.
