As you may be aware, the College Board will continue with all digital testing for the PSAT/NMSQT this fall. Digital testing allows our students to take this exam on their school-issued Chromebooks, and presents some benefits of ease for the administration. Like last year, the exam will be administered on a Saturday at High School East. The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered at High School East on Saturday, October 26th, starting at 8 a.m. This will be the only PSAT/NMSQT offering this school year.
We remain focused on keeping access to this important exam open to all our 10th and 11th-grade students. The district will register and pay the fee for any 10th or 11th-grade student interested in sitting for the exam. We encourage all students to do so as the exam is a means for students to identify specific strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the SAT exam, find out about their personalized AP Potential, enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, and connect to other College Board services that can help them make choices about their future. A parent guide to the PSAT/NMSQT with additional information can be found here.
If you would like your student to take the exam, you will need to fill out the Simple Google Form linked below. This form is due by Monday September 30th. Due to the requirements of registration, this is a hard deadline and sign ups will not be possible after the 30th. Once the form has been completed the district will handle all other steps, and communicate more details with you and your students as we approach the October test date.
Thank you, and feel free to reach out should you have any questions or concerns related to the PSAT/NMSQT.
