For senior pictures for the yearbook does it matter what color dress shirt you wear or does it have to be white? I know the coat has to be black and so does the tie but can the shirt be a color other than white?

A. The shirt should be white.

Why can’t we carry our backpacks in HSW? I have to run back and forth to my locker all day, or carry 5 binders.

Silly question question, I know, but what exactly is an Open House? Is it an opportunity to meet individually with your kiddo’s teachers? Or is it more of a walk-through meet and greet sort of thing?

A. More of a meet and greet.

I know someone who started a club in HSE last year, and I heard that no more clubs could be made after that. Is this true? If not, where do I go if I want to start a new club?

A. You can’t just “start” a club. There is budgeting involved. Talk to your principal.

What is the curriculum for the Life Skills program at Shatekon?

A. The FSD curriculum is comprised of a variety of different programs and instructional approaches designed to meet the unique needs of students as they progress through a modified and adapted curriculum. Examples include, TouchMath, Equals Math, Reading Milestones, Reading A to Z, Unique Learning, etc.

can you switch into math lab if your struggling in regular math

A. If a student is struggling in math, he or she should see their counselor to talk about a possible change to their schedule.

Is there a modified indoor track for middle schoolers?

I have never commented on a staff members clothing choice, but a photo posted on Facebook showing a teacher whose shorts are far too short; in fact they would not comply with the student dress code, much less the staff dress code. The employees should model proper attire for the students, and her choice was not proper.

A. The Code of Conduct specifically states: Staff members are expected to model appropriate dress and decorum, recognizing the significant role and impression they have on students.
