When will the district release the question and answer document about reopening that it promised?
A. We are working on it right now. There are a lot of them. Hopefully we will be able to get it out on Tuesday or Wednesday this week.
I know the school name, Shenendahowa, means settlers of the plains, which is why we are called the Plainsmen. However, it seems odd to me that we use a native language for our school name and use traditional native crafts to represent our school through logos, such as that of the Shen Shop. If our school is priding itself on native culture, shouldn’t we do more to make sure we are respecting and honoring their culture, not taking it for branding? And shouldn’t we, school-wide, further our education on the tribes that used to reside here, if we are using their language and culture?
A. In 1951, the newly centralized school district voted to purchase 160 acres to build a K-12 school. This land was part of the Shenendahowe or Clifton Park Patent of 1708. A. It is up to the advisor.
If non-consumable school supplies are to be purchased and provided by the district, how are the elementary schools able to require the purchase of scissors and headphones?
A. Schools should not be requesting scissors. If they did, notify your principal. The district recognizes the need to request that parents/students purchase special, personal items. Headphones fall in the personal category.
My Shen google account on restricted mode blocked two of the videos released by the college board that are for AP us history review, is there a way that they can unblock them so students can watch the videos.
A. Any staff member can approve videos on YouTube. Please ask your teacher to review and approve.
So I like to take advantage of the sidewalks and paths throughout the campus. Why is it that when there is a game on the soccer/lax fields across from Tesago, cars are allowed to park on the path behind the bleachers? Are these legal parking spots?
A. They are not legal spots…most recently, there have been barriers to separate the walkway.
can a girl wear a short dress to prom (appropriate length of course)? or does it have to be a long, floor-length formal dress?
A. Attire should be formal, there are no requirements about the length of a dress other than standard dress code requirements.
Would I get in trouble if I downloaded a vpn onto my chrombook? If so how much?
A. VPNs are prohibited on the district network for all devices. Discipline is progressive and administered by building administration pursuant to the student code of conduct and acceptable use policy.
what information about discipline action by law are you actually allowed to give out
A. None, other than to say that discipline occurred.
what are the requirements to attend junior prom
A. The Junior Class Associate and Assistant Principal will be communicating directly with the class in the coming weeks. The requirements include being in good standing academically, behaviorally, and attendance.
