2/8/22 – If you did not take Accelerated Art in 8th grade, can you still take high school art courses, such as photography? – Student

A. You can absolutely take Art Courses in HS. Studio in Art is the prerequisite course for entry into all other art courses. Studio is offered at HSW and at HSE. Only a handful of students take the course in grade 8, most take it in grade 9.

2/8/22 – Why are some people “cleared” from wearing a mask? – Student

A. There are documented medical exemptions for mask wearing. If you have concerns, please speak with your Principal or CAP for HS students.

A. You can find past news/announcements here: https://www.shenet.org/news/. Please keep in mind that some posts have “expired” on the back-end publishing as we are held to a certain data limit so not all posts may be available.

A. The High School maintains a list with the organization that assists in maintaining that area. It is kept in the HS Principal’s office but is not published.

2/8/22 – Why would the junior prom be planned for the same day as the SAT? Poor planning and this date should be reevaluated. – Parent

A. There are numerous reasons…Proms are planned 12-18 months ahead of time. It is similar to the process of planning a large wedding. The venue has to be available and not have other events booked. A. There was a Google Form sent out to students/families from their Class Assistant Principal. Students should check with their grade level CAP with questions.

2/8/22 – Where can I view the High School achievement list? I’ve only been able to find Koda listed online. – Parent

A. The High School posts the list in the building but can look into submitting as a post on the website. The list is ready after the grade correction window, approximately 2 weeks after grades come out.
