Chango Elementary
- The Chango K-1 ISD classroom (Mrs. High’s) made sensory bottles with Mr. Szeli’s 2nd grade classroom!
- Congratulations to the pictured eight students for being Awarded the PE Student Leadership Awards for Chango Elementary
- Chango celebrated our neurodiverse learners this past month and “Minds of All Kinds”. Each student colored in their brain to match their strengths and interests to celebrate our diverse learning styles here at Chango.
- The Chango Cheetah’s new drama club was directed by Chango graduate Molly Hurley to produce a rousing song from MATILDA.
- Mr. Szeli’s 2nd graders at Chango were able to join a google meet with one of their classmates who was traveling with their family in South Africa. While asking them questions, they were even able to see elephants in the background!
- Chango’s student body recently raised an incredible $11,500 for Ronald McDonald House Charities by participating in a readathon.
- Okte and Chango students visited Arongen to visit with “Bad Kitty” author and Illustrator, Nick Bruel. Thanks to Northshire Books and the Shen Librarians for setting up the special visit.
- Chango 1st graders celebrate 100 days of school
- Chango 2nd graders celebrate their first “Valentine’s Day” breakfast
- The conductor calls “All Aboard!” as Chango First Graders present their tickets to ride the Polar Express!

Welcome to Chango Elementary School
Located in the northern part of the district, Chango Elementary School is one of four off-campus schools. It opened in 1974.
Mission:
The Chango Community will provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes and celebrates the development of our student’s abilities, character, and creativity.
Chango students provided suggestions for a school slogan through Chango’s Student Council. The council developed five possible slogans to match the mission statement. Then there was a school wide vote. The winning slogan (or motto) is:
“Learning + Fun = Chango“
Start & Dismissal Times:
School starts at 9:05 a.m.
AM Kindergarten dismissed at 11:40 a.m.
PM Kindergarten starts at 12:40 p.m.
School is dismissed at 3:15 p.m.
Half day dismissal at 12:15 p.m.
