A. In order for a student to be identified as having a learning disability, the student must first receive systematic, targeted interventions to remediate specific academic skill deficits (Response to Intervention-RTI). Once appropriate interventions have been tried and a student continues to demonstrate academic gaps, the student must undergo a full evaluation by the Committee on Special Education to determine whether or not there is a learning disability. If you believe your child may have a learning disability please contact your child’s principal, school psychologist, or special education academic administration.
