Gowana 6th graders learn about Ancient Egypt in the Gowana Library!
Gowana 6th graders learn about Ancient Egypt in the Gowana Library! Students rotated through five stations where they learned how to decode and write their own hieroglyphics, labeled and created 3D pyramids, learned about the mummification process, identified landforms on a map and created their own Ancient Egyptian tomb.

Congrats to FLL Qualifier Champions – Ctrl+Alt+Elite and Data Deleted (click to learn more)!
On January 11, team Ctrl+Alt+Elite (FLL Team #3276) won their qualifier and on January 25, Data Deleted (FLL Team #64570) won their qualifier, resulting in both teams advancing to the Championship tournament on February 8th at RPI. Congrats to both teams!
Gowana Student Council collected toys for Toys for Tots and money for Gowana Givers to support Gowana families in need. This picture was taken after a successful campaign. They collected 39 toys and $139 from students.

The Special Olympics invited our Middle School Unified PE students to participate in an activity of reaching out to people that they were thankful for in the area of inclusion.
The Special Olympics invited our Middle School Unified PE students to participate in an activity of reaching out to people that they were thankful for in the area of inclusion. Once our students identified those adults in the buildings that helped make inclusion possible for them, they wrote thank you cards, and then delivered them.
The FLL Robotics Qualifier went great! Both of Shen’s middle school teams were recognized for special awards AND qualified to advance to the Championship tournament at RPI.

The CaptiBytes team took first place in Robot Design and the Execute File.Win team took the top prize as the tournament champion !
