Karigon Elementary School presented the Wizard of Oz in March – it was a hit!

 

For “twin day” as part of Karigon’s Spirit Week Ms. Trotta’s class did tie dye or bright colors so they could all match.

ELL teacher Mrs. Feinberg teaches Mrs. Paupini’s Karigon 3rd graders about Holi and design festive flowers.

In honor of National Breakfast Week, Katy Headwell, Director of Food Services, visited Mrs. Jewett’s Kindergarten class to have a bagel breakfast and read a bagel book.

Karigon held its 1st Black History Month Celebration on February 15th. This event highlighted music and education about significant historical events and figures.

Dr. Robinson joined us virtually to share his thoughts and provide inspiration.

Karigon faculty and students were visited by the Shen Jazz band who performed a variety of songs from legendary African American Jazz musicians to help celebrate Black History Month.

Dr. Tammy Ellis-Robinson inspired Karigon 5th graders to write poetry and share their voices using the great Maya Angelou’s writing. You might see some of these authors and creators in the next Skribblers Magazine!

Karigon Elementary Principal Mr. Jones visits Ms. Paupini’s 3rd Grade class for a read-aloud highlighting the contributions of African Americans on children’s literature.

To highlight the contributions African Americans have made and continue to make on children’s literature, Karigon Principal Mr. Jones visits Ms. Paupini’s 3rd grade class to read the inspirational story: “Gunner, Football Hero,” written and illustrated by James Ransome.
