The Middle Schools welcomed award winning author/poet, Kwame Alexander in April

Tri-building students were able to ask questions pertaining to his life, career, and his books, such as The Crossover, Becoming Muhammad Ali and The Playbook.

Susan Christman’s 7th grade Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) students created and sewed “Cage/Care Comforters.” for the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

Strengthening the community one stitch at a time. Susan Christman’s 7th grade Family and Consumer Sciences FACS students applied their sewing machine lessons and learned skills to create and sew “Cage/Care Comforters.” All “Cage/Care Comforters” were donated to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter as part of The FACS department’s ongoing commitment to community services. 

The Middle School’s Treble Choir performed at the Capitol and at the Saratoga/Schenectady county choral showcase.

Mr. Travis’ 8th Grade DDE class visited the SUNY Poly Nanotech Facility in Albany. They learned about nanotechnology, college opportunities, and potential career options.

Each 8th grade technology student sanded wood blanks and LASER engraved a personal ruler to use throughout the year.

Middle School Bowling Club Started this Week and Students had a blast!

Middle School, CaptiBytes, wins 1st place in innovation and 2nd place in Robot Performance!

In February, one of our middle school teams, the CaptiBytes, was recognized for the following at the Hudson Valley Championship FLL Tournament: 1st place in Innovation, 2nd place in Robot Performance, and was selected to advance to another competition in May of this year. This team represents students from all three of our middle schools.

Koda Student Council hosted its first ever Coco Loco Day.

All Koda students enjoyed hot cocoa with their friends while watching the movie, Coco, during lunch.

Mr. Nicky performed virtually for sixth graders at Acadia, Gowana and Koda Middle Schools. He performed some of his classic songs and even wrote a new song with the help of our students.

Nineteen Math Honors Society students participated in the national online competition, MathCon, with four finalists moving on to compete in Chicago! Congratulations to all involved! Click for info and photos…

The Math Honor Society had 19 students participate in a national online competition, MathCon, in February-March. Out of the 19, we had 4 finalists – top 98% of finishers( Aryadeepta De, Anthony Yang, Aivin Le, and Emily Yin) and 2 alternates (Shrinidhi Chockalingam and Kaaviya Kovai Palanivel).
