Okte students transformed themselves into circus performers. Students at Okte learned circus skills in their PE class. Fifth graders opted to specialize in platespinning, balancing, stilt walking, or other skills. The 5th graders then put on a show for their school community.

Mrs. Shutts and Mrs. Leuzinger’s ISD classes had a great time exploring the Vischer Ferry Fire Department truck during their visit to Okte. Firefighters from Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Jonesville, Vischer Ferry, and West Crescent Volunteer Fire Companies came to Okte during National Fire Prevention Week and taught important lessons on fire prevention and safety!

53 Okte students tracked their reading in summer 2024 and read over 1000 minutes. These students were recognized at a school-wide assembly.

Congrats to Charlotte Kennedy, her story, “Dog” was picked by Tammy Robinson, Managing Editor of Skribbler’s Magazine to be read at 7th annual Albany Book Festival. Charlotte entered her story as part of a fourth-grade unit on poetry taught in the library during the 2023-2024 school year.
