A. Yes, all applications must go through OLAS.
Are teachers allowed to swear? One of my teachers swears a lot.
A. The use of inappropriate language is not acceptable. Speak to your building principal, if you have a concern.
Is it possible to petition to fire a teacher?
A. No. If you have a concern about a teacher’s behavior in the classroom, report it to the principal.
My child told me that his geometry teacher went to Disney during school and not during a vacation. Does the school allow her to do this?
A. All employees are expected to be in attendance when school is in session.
Will Shen consider hiring teaching assistants?
A. No…at least not in the immediate future.
Why do the elementary schools not follow the same policy as the middle schools regarding notifying someone of their interview status? The middle schools notify candidates either way, whether they have made it to the next round or not. The elementary schools should show the same amount of respect and professionalism to their candidates.
A. With the number of applicants that we receive for elementary positions, the process takes a bit longer than at the secondary level. All candidates who were invited for a screening process are notified by the building administrator. A. There is no policy against tattoos.
What is the district/school policy if two employees/staff members engage in sexual activity?!
A. There is no policy preventing staff members from having a relationship outside of work.
